I mentioned in my first post that I had a big whiteboard right next to my desk with all of the reminders, notes and ideas that will inch me closer to achieving my goals. I realised that some photos of that would’ve been handy (still getting used to this blogging lark), so here’s a few shots of it. The idea here was to break the board down into four sections: inspiration, to-do lists, fun ideas and long-term goals.

It’s hardly a work of art, but it’s functional and it has everything I need.

Everything on here keeps me going when I make the mistake of looking at my dream as one big mountain of hoops to jump through and things to remember. This makes it easier to focus on the here-and-now, and remember that I have to take it one step at a time. The ideas tab will be reserved for blog/vlog ideas, unique ways of van-dwelling and such.

The ‘ideas’ section is largely empty at the moment. I’m going to get some magnets and stick photos, leaflets and other things that might be useful. If you have any ideas of things that might come in handy for planning something like this, let me know in the comments.

For me, the Inspiration segment of the board is important because my life is, sadly, full of unsupportive people who feel no greater joy than when they’re shooting down ideas (not my stick-figure friends down there, they’ve been great. I’m talking about family). A very important thing to remember about all of this is that it’s about me, and that’s okay. It doesn’t matter what they think. Say it with me now! It does not matter what anyone else thinks of this idea as long as I am happy with it.

Also, bacon. You gotta love bacon.
